5TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AT NORTHEAST FTH GOMBE ON 21ST JUNE 2020



DTOF REPORT FROM GOMBE NORTH EASTERN NIGERIA ON THE OCCASION OF ITS 5TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY


PREAMBLE:

To celebrate the existence of this non profit, non governmental organisation on it's 5th year anniversary Gombe State was picked to benefit from the charitable gesture of the organisation.


ACTIVITIES:
1. Support for the fight against COVID-19.

2. Support to an indigent cancer child.


Support For The fight Against Covid-19:

The DTOF family paid a visit to the management of Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe on Friday 19th June 2020, We were received by the Acting CMD DR S J Bathnnah in company of the Hospital Acting CMAC and DCMAC Research and Training,  Dr Yusuf Abdullahi and Dr Kefas Paul Zawaya. An Ambassadorial role was offered to them which they gladly accepted having known the work of the organisation through various projects across the country.

Donation of Face Masks and Handgloves was made to the Hospital. The management of the Hospital in appreciation not only thank DTOF but encourage and promise to participate in any project that they may be call upon to participate. In his words the acting CMD said " we cannot do more than enough to humanity". ( Pictures sent)


Support For Indigent Cancer Patient:

21st of June 2020 was a day to remember for the family of Malam Imrana whose 9 year old daughter Rukayya has been battling with Nephroblastoma for 2years but facing challenges with continuation of treatment due to financial constraints. The organisation came to their rescue by putting of the bills of the remaining 5 cycles of chemotherapy and investigations including CT of the abdomen. The medical bills sum up to One Hundred And Thirty Thousand Naira (N130,000=00), which was presented to them by the Acting CMAC Dr Yusuf Abdullahi in the present of the managing Consultant Dr Ahmed Girbo and DCMAC of the Hospital Dr Kefas Paul Zawaya who also is the GOMBE State NMA Chairman (pictures and videos).

If he does otherwise and proceeds with his NMA candidacy after accepting his VC appointment, then something is hugely wrong.The earlier we stop defending the indefensible the better for us all NB..We are for everybody and for no body ie We are not campaigning for or against anybody in the forthcoming election. We have a strong feeling that Prof wont allow some political jobbers and masquerades who have long remained in Naija doctors political space solely for their personal interest and self aggrandizement to coerce him into this moral conundrum. Some people have been eaten up and still derive their source of livelihood from NMA NARD etc. ..now they see Prof as a potential winner and want to force him to take this journey of monumental disgrace and humongous ignominy just for their personal gai

SOUTH EAST DTOF REGIONAL REPORTS* June 19, 2020 was a remarkable day for little *Master Chijianu Abonyi* a 20 month old male, admitted in the Paediatric Ward for Obstructive Uropathy. The patient’s mother is indigent and couldn’t afford her hospital bills.  Today this child benefited from the *DOCTORS TIME OUT FAMILY CHARITIES * who made a presentation of the sum of *120,000 naira* to the family. The South-East team, ably led by the *NARD PSG, Dr Aneke*, in the company of current and past presidents of ARD UNTH and ARD NOHE namely  *Dr Ekeoma Nwosu* ARD UNTH POTARD *Dr Okorie* ARD NOHE POTARD *Dr Ndiokwelu * ARD UNTH Past POTARD *Dr Okolo KC* ARD NOHE Past POTARD And the ADN of the Paediatrics were on ground to mark this occasion.
