OPENING SPEECH BY THE NARD PRESIDENT Dr Uyilawal Okhuaihesuyi ON THE 6th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE DOCTORS’ TIME OUT FAMILY(DTOF) IN JUNE 2021

The CEO/FOUNDER DTOF and the family worldwide.

It is with Joy and all humility to God that I open the floor to celebrate with this great body of Doctors on the 6th anniversary of the Doctor’s Time Out Family.

The DTOF has grown into a rostrum that touches the lives of Nigerians, doctors and non-doctors alike through her various initiatives. 

It is also worthy to note that the rostrum, DTOF is gaining the needed pedestal to becoming the single most important platform of Doctors globally.

It's a sad time in our nation's history as our existence is shaken at the foundation, but we are hopeful that a body as strong and dedicated as this will join all teeming youths of Nigeria to ward off the disease of insecurity and poverty that so greatly divide us.

It is heartwarming to be part of this 6th anniversary with the theme; 

The Postgraduate Medical Education in Nigeria: The place and future of MBBS, MSc, PhD, MD and Fellowship in contemporary Medical Practice Both in Academic and Clinical settings(Nigerian and Diasporan perspectives)

This topic is Apt and timely and as students of History, this will help us know what, when and how to act in the face of the struggles facing the fellowship we hold /seek to hold.

The subthemes 

Telemedicine and Remote consulting  : Improving Medical Efficiency during the pandemic via the NARD Telehealth Committee initiative

And

 Medico-legal issues in Contemporary Medical Practice and and Telemedicine (Remote Consulting) : The Pearls and Pitfalls  are just what is needed to plunge clinical practice to the top in Nigeria and Africa even in the face of a third wave of Covid to Africa.


We must strive to use this rostrum to advocate for a better economy, security of lives and properties, and togetherness.


Whilst we condemn the incessant killings eroding the sanity of our land, we say a silent prayer to our departed compatriots who have lost their lives in the carnage ongoing in our land and pray for their souls to rest in peace.


On the behalf of the National Officers Committee of NARD and the National Executive Committee, we celebrate with the CEO/Founder/convener a past leader of this great Association Dr Anthony Chukwunonso Ude on this anniversary and pray you continually use this stage that's set as the renaissance we pray for

If he does otherwise and proceeds with his NMA candidacy after accepting his VC appointment, then something is hugely wrong.The earlier we stop defending the indefensible the better for us all NB..We are for everybody and for no body ie We are not campaigning for or against anybody in the forthcoming election. We have a strong feeling that Prof wont allow some political jobbers and masquerades who have long remained in Naija doctors political space solely for their personal interest and self aggrandizement to coerce him into this moral conundrum. Some people have been eaten up and still derive their source of livelihood from NMA NARD etc. ..now they see Prof as a potential winner and want to force him to take this journey of monumental disgrace and humongous ignominy just for their personal gai

SOUTH EAST DTOF REGIONAL REPORTS* June 19, 2020 was a remarkable day for little *Master Chijianu Abonyi* a 20 month old male, admitted in the Paediatric Ward for Obstructive Uropathy. The patient’s mother is indigent and couldn’t afford her hospital bills.  Today this child benefited from the *DOCTORS TIME OUT FAMILY CHARITIES * who made a presentation of the sum of *120,000 naira* to the family.
