*A Congratulatory Message on the 3rd Year Anniversary Celebration of Doctors Timeout Family (DTOF) by NMA PRESIDENT - DR FRANCIS A ADEDAYO on 15/6/18



Good morning dear colleagues, it's a pleasure addressing you this morning on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of DTOF. 
My commendation goes especially to the originators of this blog and also to members of this great family for the dynamism and sagacity regularly displayed here.

The maxim,  "information is power", can't be seen applied more aptly than with the level of interactions on this blog.
Followers on this blog have been kept on their toes by the level of highly cerebral depositions seen here, and this have validated my long held belief that we have a large pool of very intelligent young men and women to tap from their rich knowledge, culture and heritage. 

The current NOC, I must say is interested in constructive engagement and we encourage members to responsibly bring forth their thoughts for debate and if they are the superior view(s), we promise to appropriately deploy them in line with the NMA constitution.   However,  we will appreciate during the intellectual discourse, that we define the problems and proffer solutions for them in an atmosphere devoid of insinuations,  innuendos and use of derogatory language. This will be regarded a constructive criticism. 

We must also know that no one is perfect nor sole repository of wisdom, therefore we may have some decisions that may not seem right to some members. We plead you point these out with filial love and also suggest ways out. 

This NOC is devising ways of having maximum interactions  among members as a means of promoting all inclusiveness in our activities. To this end we support and encourage the use of social media and other newer technologies in reaching our large followership.

Needless to say that we have a lot of battles ahead of us,  we should try as much as possible to accommodate ourselves and be focused on the use of our unity in diversity for the improvement of medical profession in Nigeria.

I want to also admonish us all that financial breakthrough and independence is a must for medical professionals. So I want to align with the theme:  "The Resident Doctor and Financial Planning" and subtheme "Medical Entrepreneurship, Myth or Reality" of this 3rd year anniversary. We must see how we incorporate ourselves into the society and make the best use of our intelligence.
The era of doctors restricting themselves to the hospital environment should be discarded. The dynamism in the world will leave us behind if we remain static and stalled within the hospital environment. 

Lastly, we are in a democracy and in democracy there is need for lobbying and lots of advocacy visits to get what is desirable for us. Nothing will come our way if we do not take active positions in the polity. We will require a lot of fund to be able to drive ourselves back to our revered position and we intend to go further; therefore we WILL have to contribute more to the commonwealth if we must deliver the expected.

Good evening my people , now that Prof Ujah has accepted his Vice Chancellorship appointment, i feel the next rational step is for him to withdraw his candidacy for NMA President. No long story! If he does otherwise and proceeds with his NMA candidacy after accepting his VC appointment, then something is hugely wrong.The earlier we stop defending the indefensible the better for us all NB..We are for everybody and for no body ie We are not campaigning for or against anybody in the forthcoming election. We have a strong feeling that Prof wont allow some political jobbers and masquerades who have long remained in Naija doctors political space solely for their personal interest and self aggrandizement to coerce him into this moral conundrum. Some people have been eaten up and still derive their source of livelihood from NMA NARD etc. ..now they see Prof as a potential winner and want to force him to take this journey of monumental disgrace and humongous ignominy just for their personal gai

SOUTH EAST DTOF REGIONAL REPORTS* June 19, 2020 was a remarkable day for little *Master Chijianu Abonyi* a 20 month old male, admitted in the Paediatric Ward for Obstructive Uropathy. The patient’s mother is indigent and couldn’t afford her hospital bills.  Today this child benefited from the *DOCTORS TIME OUT FAMILY CHARITIES * who made a presentation of the sum of *120,000 naira* to the family.
